Since we were kids we were told that animal fat is bad for us. Most people are more worried about calories than fat. Unfortunately if you are overweight, you should be worried about both. You need to make sure that your diet isn't full of fatty foods. You should be getting your calories from healthy foods. Who cares about not eating any fat, if all your calories come from chocolate bars? Basically think about it this way, everything is good for you in moderation and nothing is good if you over do it. For example; how many cultures in the world eat bread? Most of us eat some sort of bread. Bread for some people is the focus of the meal. In the old days, women spent all day long making breads. This is also true with pasta in some regions of the world. People in a lot of places eat some sort of pasta with every meal. What about rice? The same thing. The Irish and potatoes? The same thing. These are all carbs. You can get a lot of calories from carbs if you over eat them. Most people eat these every day of their lives. We know that, a lot of people are addicted to carbs. Carbs plus animal fat adds a tire around the waste line. I'm not saying that carbs are worse than fat. I mean, fat has its problems too. If you eat too much fat rich food, you will be overweight and you can cause a heart attack. You and your body can only handle so much of them. We have all seen young men get heart attacks at an early age. So, we know that animal fat is bad, but not all kind of fats are bad for you.These would include meats and natural unprocessed cheeses. Also we eat deep fried foods, for example donuts, French fries, potato chips. Deep fried foods are not the best choice, especially if you are overweight. I don't say that you should not eat this or that, eat everything what you like, but eat it in moderation. |

Deep fried foods are are high in calories and high in fat. Don't eat them every day, but once per week. Don't go hog wild on a whole bag of chips. Instead, get a small bag that is enough for one or two servings. This way, you won't be tempted to eat the whole bag. Oils such as olive oil are low or free in saturated fats. You should use olive oil whenever you can. Keep in mind though moderation, you should only use a little oil. |

Make sure to always use non stick cookware or a slow cooker. Even if you eat fruits, salads and cereals you should watch your calories intake as well as your fat. Some of the fruits, like bananas, and almost all of the cereals are high in sugar. Also pay attention to how much carbs you are eating each day.
