A glass of wine a day will keep the doctor away. This is true to an extent.

They have done research on people around the world. People who drink wine are healthier. Of course, some of that is based on diet as well. I mean, if you are eating a whole pig every day, no amount of wine is going to help you.

I go with butter. Butter is a fat that hasn't been over processed. I like to think that all of these processed foods that we are eating is actually bad for us.  I'm not saying that you should consume large amounts of butter. I would say the same is true with margarine. The key thing to do is, use it in moderation.

Do carbs make you gain weight?

Yes they do. They will put on the pounds and kgs just like any other food will. If not more so. The key thing is moderation. Don't eat a loaf of bread with your breakfast.

Celery takes more calories to digest than is in the product.

That is false. There is no food like this on earth. There are more calories in celery than you will burn by eating it. That is one of the biggest myths out there.

FAST DIET

Most of the women and a lot of guys also more often tend to look into the mirror and cast a critical eye on their own bodies. Ladies usually think something like this: “I think my ass is getting bigger…" Guys would say: "Oh, this is not to bad, just some beer muscle around my waist..." Then the ladies try to find some excuse for themselves, something like the clothes are badly designed. This is the way people run into the latest dieting craze that promises to make anybody slim and vastly improve the quality of life, too. But get ride of that extra weight is not that simple.

Losing one pound per week is actually a good rate. (1 kg is = 2.204 pound) Losing three pounds per week sounds way better, but it’s a big mistake. Anything more than two pounds per week is bound to be loss of lean tissues that make up the muscles. The basic idea is that the faster you go, the more muscle mass you lose. You don't need to loose muscle. You need to lose fat, or need to turn the fat into muscle. Slow diets make sure that, what goes out is fat.

If the diet makes you lose muscle mass, then your metabolism slows down and the accumulated fat is burned slower and slower. As you can see, a bad diet makes it harder for you to lose weight. Starving yourself is a bad idea because your metabolism has to function at the proper speed in order to help you lose weight. If you take dietary fibre you won't feel hunger.

Eating the right kinds of food is important because you need calories to give your body the energy to function properly. There is a difference between feeling hungry while your body adjusts to less food and feeling starved because you’re not getting the required daily amount of calories. The food you eat also gives you the energy needed to burn fat through physical effort. You can’t go to the gym or run in the park if you’re about to pass out every time when you try to move. There’s a big difference between dieting and starvation.

The best diet is the Mediterranean diet. It won't cost you any extra money, and you do not need to be a rocket scientist to practice it. You don't have to eat less, you just have it eat smarter. At first you should get rid of your deep fryer. You wont need it anymore. Your fat "intake" should based on cold pressed Olive oil, so you won't need the deep fryer. Your menu should be free from animal fat, margarine, processed cheese and cheap saturated cooking oil. The menu's meat should be mainly seafood, chicken with out skin and steamed vegetables for a side dish.

You can have some good quality low fat cheese, whole wheat crackers, salad with vinegar or Olive oil based salad dressing, cottage cheese and yogurt. Also don't forget the fruits. This is not a real Mediterranean diet, the Mediterranean diets are much richer than this, however it is a really good way to start to get back into shape.

For the fun part, spice this up with some red wine.
